Childs
Handprint
This is a wonderful gift for a Grandparent or
Parent. A child is so happy to see his/her
print displayed for all to see!
If you do not like this recipe, you can use
almost any dough recipe or clay.
What you will
need
2 cups of all purpose flour
1 cup of salt
1 cup of warm water
bowl
fork or spoon for mixing
egg white
pastry brush
ABC stampers, or regular stampers if desired.
Piece of ribbon for hanging
(Food coloring or Acrylic paint if you choose to
add color to the project)
How you make it
In a bowl, mix the water, salt and flour
together with the fork or spoon.
Knead this "dough" until mixed well, and
shape into a circle or any shape that you prefer.
(Should you prefer to give it color, add a small
amount of acrylic paint or food coloring to the
dough as you are mixing it).
Have the child put his or her hand print in the
bottom section of the dough, making sure that the
dough has not become too thin from pressing on
that spot.
Make a hole at the top to use for hanging.
At the top of the circle of dough, stamp in the
child's name together with the date or a message
of your choice. For this step, you can use
stampers, a kitchen tool or any item that will
make a fun impression. It is your choice.
Brush the masterpiece with egg white (only if you
are not adding color), using the pastry brush, and
bake it at 325 degrees until brown. Should
you want to add color, you can use a clear craft
coating of your choice when the project has cooled
instead of the egg.
Tie a piece of ribbon in the hole and it is ready
to display!
